This juice is one of our favourite detoxing juice recipes. It is perfect for starting your day with energy and immunity. It contains apple, lemon, ginger, and cayenne pepper, which are all great for cleansing your liver, boosting your metabolism, and fighting inflammation.

To make this detox drink, you'll need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 large apple, cored and chopped
  • 1/2 lemon, peeled and seeded
  • 1-inch piece of ginger peeled and chopped
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • Water as needed

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Add water as needed to adjust the consistency.
  3. Enjoy this juice first thing in the morning or whenever you need a pick-me-up.

 

Berry Detox Porridge for Breakfast

Start your day right with a bowl of this detox porridge that will fill you up and satisfy your sweet tooth. It's rich in fibre and helps your body cleanse naturally. It also contains oats to help lower cholesterol and stabilise blood sugar.

To make this porridge, you'll need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 2 cups of almond milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup of fresh or frozen mixed berries
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped walnuts
  • 2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the oats and almond milk to a boil. 
  2. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are soft and creamy. 
  3. Stir in the cinnamon and vanilla. 
  4. Transfer to a bowl and top with the berries, walnuts, and honey or maple syrup if desired.

 

Green Detox Smoothie with Spinach, Apple, and Lime

If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to get your greens, try this green detox smoothie. It’s made with spinach and is rich in iron, folate, and chlorophyll.

This colourful salad is perfect for a festive and delicious lunch or Christmas dinner. Beetroots, rich in betalains, are good antioxidants that help the liver eliminate toxins.

To make this detox salad, you'll need:

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium beetroots, peeled and grated
  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups of baby spinach
  • 2 ripe avocados, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons of Dijon mustard

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, toss the grated beetroots with the apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, honey or maple syrup, and Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Arrange the spinach on a large platter. Top with the beetroot mixture, avocado slices, and walnuts. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and serve.
